Summer Jobs and Internship in Door County.
We have several great opportunities for Summer 2009 at the Door County Outpost. We will also consider longer term positions for the right people.
Internship.
We are looking for bright, hard-working individual(s) to support us in our operations through the Summer months. Duties will be extremely varied, ranging from marketing support, to event organization, to sales support in our art Gallery and retail space, to lending a hand in the Café area during peak periods.
This will be a very enjoyable and rewarding work experience for the right person.
Here is a little more detail on what we have in mind for you -
Marketing - we have an active live music program, a fine art Gallery, wine tasting function, event program and food/café area. We need to come up with a strategic marketing plan to promote the various facets of our business in an intelligent way. There are a variety of standard methods for marketing and promotion, but we need to find and implement more creative marketing methods to gain an advantage on our local competition here in Door County. We have some ideas sketched out but we need more. Our intern will help initially in brainstorming new marketing initiatives then take on the role of implementing them and ensuring their success. This will very loosely involve web marketing, print, radio and other forms of local promotion amongst the business community. It will involve a significant amount of face-to-face contact and meetings with customers and local business people.
We will make a contribution towards your expenses, which will equate to approximately 20-25 hours of paid work, and we are looking for the individual to work at least a 40 hour week. We will then pay a fixed hourly rate for hours worked above 40. In view of the demanding nature of this role, we are looking for an advanced student with some practical work experience. We will provide you with all reasonable support in your new role, but we need you to be self-motivated and resourceful.
We will provide a full and detailed report at the end of the term, covering all aspects of your performance. This will of course be your property and you can use it as you see fit. We are also confident that if you are a 'good fit' for our operation, you could be offered future, full-time employment.
