Our Fair Trade for Talent project came to life in September 2008. A collaborative effort between musicians, artists, venue owners and representatives of the industry, our goal is to promote the performing and visual arts by creating an environment where artists and performers can showcase their talents to the public and at the same time receive fair recognition and reward for their efforts.
In support of this concept we will be launching a series of annual events aimed at bringing our ideas into the spotlight.
"Fair Trade for Talent" Competition.
The Door County Outpost Gallery and Café is staging our first annual “Fair Trade for Talent” competition in Egg Harbor WI. Our venue is located at the heart of Door County, one of the nations most popular and respected tourist destinations, with a strong emphasis on the performing and visual arts.
As a tourist community we attract over 2 Million visitors each year to the area, and we will be promoting this event heavily to these visitors through the web, print, radio and TV mediums.
A competitive event with a focus on musical performances in front of a live audience and panel of judges, the program will run for six consecutive Tuesday evenings starting June 30th, with the Grande Finale held on Saturday August 15th 2009.
Eighteen contestants will be selected from an initial application pool of many hundreds.
