This Songwriter Showcase originated in Sturgeon Bay at Café Launch and has since grown to include nearly 50 writers in Northeastern Wisconsin.
We are pleased to bring the Songwriter Showcase to the Outpost, in what we hope will be a regular monthly event.
The format for this event is based on short 3 song performances by regional artists in groups of 3 with 10-15 minute breaks for the audience to socialize. This format encourages a "true listening" audience for the songwriters who attend.

Songwriter Showcase now at The Outpost in Egg Harbor

The Songwriter Showcase, which started in Sturgeon Bay at Café Launch in September 2007, has become an innovative leader in the realm of the traditional open-mic. Encouraging songwriters to get up and play original works to a listening audience has fostered tremendous creativity and artistic collaboration within Door County and beyond. The Door County Outpost Gallery and Café is pleased to be a new venue for the Songwriter Showcase, in what they hope will be a regular monthly event. The format for this event is based on short 3 song performances by regional artists in groups of 3 with 10-15 minute breaks for the audience to socialize. This format encourages a listening audience for the songwriters and guests who attend.
The Door County Outpost is a recently constructed log cabin, located adjacent highway 42, a half-mile South of Egg Harbor. The venue is home to a recently re-styled Café, serving great food, espresso coffee and premium wines and beers. The Outpost is also host to the Forté Gallery, a modern art gallery with local and nationally renowned artists from around the USA as well as the Art Of Music Concert Series which features many national touring musicians. Terry Lundahl of The Art Of Music concert series booked the showcase at The Door County Outpost in support of its innovative format and cross-pollinating outreach to musicians and patrons alike.
