Door County has a plethora of art galleries and gift shops, but at the Outpost we offer our shoppers something quite unique. Many of our gifts have that Door County theme, but often with a twist. New for 2009 our gift selection will be expanded to include many 'Fair Trade' products. Fair Trade certification ensures that the artists and craftspeople are fairly rewarded for the work they produce. We believe this is an important aspect of trading globally. It's so easy now to locate art, gifts, jewelry, clothing, coffee etc, that has been produced overseas, often in impoverished African nations. But we feel strongly that people are fairly compensated for the work that they do, and the Fair Trade certification/seal is assurance of this.
